The Department of Defense hosted the third public meeting of the Defense Innovation Board (DIB) in the Pentagon on July 18, 2023. The DIB conducted sessions with senior leaders to explore and evaluate defense innovation issues and issued the board's first studies on the National Defense Science and Technology Strategy and on Strategic Investment Capital. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III met with the board members afterward to discuss their findings and recommendations.
The DIB provides Department leaders independent advice and strategic insights on commercial-sector approaches to innovation that will enable the Department to build enduring advantages in a technology-driven environment.
