Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III announced today that the president has made the following nominations:
Army Maj. Gen. Joseph B. Berger III for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general, with assignment as judge advocate general, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C. Berger is currently serving as the deputy judge advocate general, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.
Army Maj. Gen. Robert D. Harter for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general, with assignment as chief of Army Reserve, Washington, D.C.; and commanding general, U.S. Army Reserve Command, Fort Liberty, North Carolina. Harter is currently serving as commanding general (Troop Program Unit), 81st Readiness Division, Fort Jackson, South Carolina.
Army Maj. Gen. Jeth B. Rey for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general, with assignment as deputy chief of staff, G-6, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C. Rey is currently serving as the director of Architecture, Operations, Networks and Space, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-6, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.
Army Brig. Gen. Robert A. Borcherding for appointment to the grade of major general, with assignment as deputy judge advocate general, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C. Borcherding is currently serving as legal counsel to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Washington, D.C.
