Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III spoke with Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant today about Israel's response to the Houthi attack that occurred on July 19 in Tel Aviv killing one Israeli citizen and wounding others. Secretary Austin acknowledged Israel's action followed months of Houthi attacks against the State of Israel. The Secretary reaffirmed the United States' ironclad commitment to Israel's security and Israel's right to self-defense.
