Flag Officer Assignments

The Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus and Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Jonathan W. Greenert announced today the following assignments:

Rear Adm. John W. Smith Jr., will be assigned as chief of staff, U.S. European Command, Stuttgart, Germany. Smith is currently serving as commandant, Joint Forces Staff College, National Defense University, Norfolk, Virginia.

Rear Adm. (lower half) Brad Williamson will be assigned as commandant, Joint Forces Staff College, National Defense University, Norfolk, Virginia. Williamson is currently serving as commander, Standing NATO Maritime Group Two, Naples, Italy.
