Secretary of Defense Ash Carter announced today that the president has made the following nomination:

Rear Adm. (lower half) Andrew L. Lewis, selected for the rank of rear admiral, will be assigned as vice director for operations, J-3, Joint Staff, Washington, District of Columbia. Lewis is currently serving as commander, Carrier Strike Group Twelve, Norfolk, Virginia.
