General Officer Announcement

Secretary of Defense Ash Carter announced today that the president has made the following nomination:

Marine Corps Lt. Gen. John E. Wissler for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and for assignment as commander, U.S. Marine Corps Forces Command; and commanding general, Fleet Marine Force Atlantic.  Wissler most recently served as the commanding general, III Marine Expeditionary Force; and commander, Marine Forces Japan, Okinawa, Japan.
