Secretary of Defense Ash Carter and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Marine Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr. have no public or media events on their schedules.  Deputy Secretary of Defense Bob Work is traveling.  

Army Lt. Gen. Thomas W. Spoehr, director, Army office of business transformation, Army Maj. Gen. Paul A. Ostrowski, deputy for acquisition and systems management, office of the assistant secretary of the Army for acquisition, logistics and technology, and Army Maj. Gen. Brian Lein, commanding general, U.S. Army Medical Research and Material Command, will brief the results of the months-long investigation into the inadvertent shipment from Dugway Proving Ground of live anthrax spores to a number of laboratories in the U.S. and abroad at 1 p.m. EST, in the Pentagon Briefing Room (2E973).  Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the Pentagon Metro Visitor's Center entrance only.  Plan to arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.  Please call Cynthia Smith at 703-614-1742 for escort to the briefing.
