Secretary of Defense James N. Mattis embarks on a trip that includes stops in Belgium, Croatia and Norway, Tuesday, July 10.
In Brussels, the secretary will join President Trump and leaders of Allied and partner nations reinforce U.S. priorities- including more equitable burden sharing, strengthening the alliance’s deterrence and defense capabilities and enhancing NATO’s role in fighting terrorism.
The secretary then meets with defense ministers of the U.S.-Adriatic Charter in Zagreb, Croatia, to reinforce U.S. support to southeast Europe.
The secretary’s final stop is Oslo, Norway, where he will meet with Norwegian Minister of Defense Frank Bakke-Jensen and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ine Eriksen Søreide.
