More than 5,000 National Guard troops and 2,700 active duty personnel are deployed or positioned to respond within 24 hours or less. They will serve in support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency and other partners. The Department of Defense provided 14 incident support bases to FEMA and is also using 20 bases to support its own military response. DOD is coordinating with multiple agencies in response to the devastation in the Bahamas. Play
