Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis, Deputy Secretary of Defense Bob Work, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Marine Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr. have no public or media events on their schedules.

Defense Intelligence Agency Director Marine Lt. Gen. Vincent Stewart testifies at 9:30 a.m. EDT at a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on worldwide threats, Room SD-G50, Dirksen Senate Office Building, Washington, District of Columbia. The hearing will be streamed live on www.defense.gov/live.

John Roth, performing the duties of under secretary of defense (comptroller) and chief financial officer; and Army Lt. Gen. Anthony R. Ierardi, Joint Staff director, force structure, resources and assessment, brief the media at 12 p.m. EDT in the Pentagon Briefing Room (2E973) on the president's fiscal 2018 defense budget. Army Budget Director Maj. Gen. Thomas Horlander (12:50 p.m. EDT); Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Budget Rear Adm. Brian Luther (1:40 p.m. EDT); Air Force Deputy Assistant Secretary for Budget Maj. Gen. James Martin Jr. (2:30 p.m. EDT); and Missile Defense Agency Director of Operations Gary Pennett (3:20 p.m. EDT), will also brief the media. Foreign journalists without a Pentagon building pass must plan on being escorted from the River Entrance Pedestrian Bridge only, or, if arriving at the Pentagon Metro Entrance Facility, must contact 703-697-5131 a minimum of one hour prior to your arrival. Please arrive no later than 45 minutes before the briefing if coming by Metro. U.S. journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the River Entrance Pedestrian Bridge or the Pentagon Metro Visitors Entrance only. Army Maj. Gen. Richard Clarke, Joint Staff vice director for strategic plans and policy (10:15 a.m. EDT); and Air Force Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office Director Maj. Gen. James Johnson (2:15 pm. EDT), participate in panel discussions on U.S. civil-military relations at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, 1616 Rhode Island Ave. NW, Washington, District of Columbia.

Coast Guard Vice Adm. Marshall Lytle III, Joint Staff C4 & Cyber director and chief information officer; Navy Vice Adm. Michael Gilday, commander, U.S. Fleet Cyber Command, and U.S. Tenth Fleet; Lt. Gen. Paul Nakasone, commanding general, U.S. Army Cyber Command; Maj. Gen. Christopher Weggeman, commander, Twenty-fourth Air Force, and Air Forces Cyber; and Maj. Gen. Loretta Reynolds, commander, Marine Forces Cyberspace Command, testify at 2:30 p.m. EDT at a Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Cybersecurity hearing, Room SR-222, Russell Senate Office Building, Washington, District of Columbia. The hearing will be streamed live on www.defense.gov/live.

Adm. Michael Rogers, director, National Security Agency; commander, U.S. Cyber Command; and chief, Central Security Service, testifies at 3:30 p.m. EDT at a House Armed Services Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities hearing on the fiscal 2018 budget request for the U.S. Cyber Command, 2118 Rayburn House Office Building, Washington, District of Columbia. The hearing will be streamed live on www.defense.gov/live.

Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley hosts the "Salute from the Chief" twilight tattoo honoring John Chambers, Elizabeth Dole and Megan Ogilvie at 6 p.m. EDT at Whipple Field, Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Virginia.
