APO stands for Army Post Office, and is associated with Army or Air Force installations. FPO stands for Fleet Post Office, and is associated with Navy installations and ships. DPO stands for Diplomatic Post Office and is associated with U.S. embassies overseas. The only way to send an item to an APO, FPO or DPO address is to use the U.S. Postal Service (USPS).
For shipping restrictions and helpful information on addressing and packaging, please visit the USPS at: https://www.usps.com/ship/apo-fpo-dpo.htm.
Organizations and individuals who wish to send care packages to deployed military units must know an individual in that unit and may address the package to that individual. Due to privacy and security concerns, DOD cannot disclose names or addresses of service members.
