| Tugboats shoot plumes of water into the air as the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) pulls into San Diego, Calif., on Aug. 27, 2007. The Nimitz-class carrier stopped in San Diego to offload personnel and equipment of Carrier Air Wing 9 before returning to its homeport of Bremerton, Wash.
